NEW HOME FOR PRONYNE GROUP
Feb. 9, 2004-Pawtucket, RI The Pronyne Group proudly announces that 8 Cleveland Street in Pawtucket, RI will serve as the home center for Auto Racing History in New England. The former Albert Jenkins Co, a huge baked goods distributor for all of New England throughout the 50’s, 60’s and into the early 70’s, will now house Pronyne’s vast collection of historic race cars and exciting memorabilia. At the new location a Main Office, Gift Shop, Theme Room, Vehicle Display area, Meeting Room, Library, Video Room, Consignment area and Craft Room are all available for viewing and use. The office and gift shop are now open. The Theme Room is open as well. RI’s Auto Racing Champion, Fred DeSarro is the first honoree to be displayed in this room from Feb. 7th thru April 30th. There is a large collection of photos and memorabilia in tribute to DeSarro and his great racing career. Also, while visiting, no racing enthusiast will want to miss the display which has been set up in tribute to the members of the New England Auto Racers Hall of Fame. The other areas of the warehouse are still under construction but are viewable. Volunteers are needed . If you are experienced in plumbing, electrical, carpentry and/or masonry work and would like to contribute some of your time and expertise, please call the office at 401-447-4202. The center is also looking to take in consignment collections for sale and the viewing pleasure of it’s guests. The Pronyne Motorsports Group has been an active part of racing history since 1984 and has carried the motto, “Where Racing History Repeats Itself”. According to the groups president, Ric Mariscal, they are excited to now be the center for auto racing history in New England.
